Berlin, Germany – November 12, 2025 — Berlin has taken a significant step towards urban biodiversity by installing 100 new beehives across Tempelhof and Neukölln parks this November. The initiative, coordinated by local beekeeping associations and supported by city environmental agencies, aims to boost pollinator populations and engage residents in sustainable practices.
Community workshops are scheduled throughout the month, offering hands-on training for aspiring urban beekeepers and educational sessions for school groups. “This project not only supports local ecosystems, but also brings neighbours together,” said project coordinator Lena Hoffmann. Early monitoring indicates increased pollination activity, promising a positive impact on Berlin’s green spaces.
