Seattle’s Church of Scientology hosted its annual block party in celebration of National Night Out in support of community anti-crime efforts.
SEATTLE, WA, August 09, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Church of Scientology celebrated Seattle’s National Night Out to heighten crime prevention awareness, increase neighborhood support of anti-crime efforts and unite the local community. The event addressed the strong connection between drug abuse and crime by distributing educational materials from the Truth About Drugs campaign free of charge.
Building on ongoing local outreach—including the distribution of more than 150,000 Truth About Drugs booklets throughout the greater Seattle area during the recent FIFA games—the campaign provides unvarnished facts in a youth-friendly format. Booklets and videos covering fentanyl, marijuana, crystal meth, heroin, synthetic drugs and other commonly abused substances help young people make informed decisions to remain drug-free.
“Hosting this annual event is a wonderful way to meet new neighbors, support anti-crime efforts, and work closely with local law enforcement to safeguard our community,” said Rev. Ann Pearce, Director of Public Affairs for Seattle’s Church of Scientology.
The family-friendly neighborhood gathering featured live music from the Viewpoints band, along with barbecue cooked and served directly from a unique antique 1924 Model-T Ford truck and hand-crafted ice cream. Children in attendance also enjoyed activities provided by a professional balloon twister.
The local initiative forms part of the Church’s broader support for global drug education and prevention efforts in partnership with the Foundation for a Drug-Free World.
