Scientologists and Muslims gather for an evening of fellowship and cultural exchange in Irving, Texas
IRVING, TX, March 25, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Church of Scientology Dallas welcomed members of the Dialog Institute Dallas for an interfaith Ramadan dinner on February 19, bringing together Scientologists and Muslims for an evening of shared meals, cultural exchange and community building. The event, held at the Church’s facility at 451 Decker Drive in Irving, drew attendees from both communities who shared tables and conversation throughout the evening.
The guests had the opportunity to learn about the Scientology Founder and humanitarian L. Ron Hubbard. Other items of discussion included the community outreach programs Scientology is involved with. This helps to foster an understanding of who Scientologists are as a group.
The evening included a presentation by a Dialog Institute leader who offered attendees an introduction to Ramadan — the holiest month in the Islamic calendar, observed through fasting from dawn to sunset as an act of spiritual reflection, gratitude, and devotion to God. The speaker also shared personal memories of growing up in Turkey, offering a warm and vivid portrait of how Ramadan shaped community life there.
Guests were immersed in those traditions firsthand, with every table featuring a deliberate mix of participants from both faiths engaged in open dialogue.
“It was a wonderful opportunity to learn about another culture and make new friends” says Gladys Sandouk, a Scientology lay leader. “The opportunity to share a meal and good conversation just shows what community is all about.”
The evening concluded with the Dialog Institute presenting a commemorative plaque to the Church of Scientology Dallas in recognition of its hospitality and in acknowledgment of the growing friendship between the two organizations.
The dinner reflects a shared commitment by both groups to building bridges across religious and cultural lines through direct personal connection.
