DECATUR, GA, May 15, 2026 /24-7PressRelease/ — Attendees will gather at the law office of Hagen Rosskopf at 119 N McDonough St, Decatur, Georgia 30030 at 6:30 p.m. to share a moment of remembrance for cyclists who lost their lives in traffic violence. A 5-mile bike ride route will be offered along with bike marshals and police escort starting at 7:00 pm.
The Ride of Silence is an annual international bike ride to commemorate cyclists killed in traffic crashes and to support those injured while riding on public roads. The first Ride of Silence was held in Texas in 2003. Twenty-three years later, cyclists in cities around the globe organize and participate of the Ride of Silence on the 3rd Wednesday in May every year. The Ride of Silence in Decatur is co- hosted by Bike Law GA and BikeFriendlyATL, Inc.
“It helps to raise awareness of the dangers cyclists face on the roads and to honor the lives of those who didn’t make it back home to their loved ones. It’s also a powerful reminder to the families of fallen cyclists that they are not alone,” shared Bruce Hagen, lawyer and founder of Hagen Rosskopf/ Bike Law GA.
This year’s Ride of Silence is dedicated to the firm’s late partner Ken Rosskopf who devoted his career to representing injured cyclists and who tragically lost his life last year while riding his bike home.
